Both men are absolute beasts. Lesnar stands at 6'3", 265 lbs, while his opponent Shane Carwin only an inch shorter at 6'2". Lesnar and Carwin cautiously circled one another for the first 30 seconds before Lesnar threw in a few jabs.

Lesnar's recent bout with diverticulitis and his subsequent loss of weight and possibly strength might have led him to focus his fight game on other aspects and evolve as a fighter.

Carwin taking advantage of Brock in close range caught him with a big uppercut. Lesnar then retreated to the cage taking Carwin with him.

The two would grapple before Lesnar got the mount. He then moved to side control and locked in what looked to be a relatively harmless side arm triangle.

Carwin, who finished 12 previous opponents when he had them hurt, appeared to have this fight in the bag. There was no reason to believe that Lesnar would avoid becoming the 13th casualty.
